Try to buy the highest quality roller cover or brush that fits your budget as it really does make a difference. Choose rollers for large spaces, traditional paintbrushes for smaller spaces and thin angled paintbrushes for corners and trim. Natural bristles or roller materials should not be used with latex paints but are excellent for oil paints. Synthetic materials work well for latex paints.
